The Zimbabwe Sugar Association would like to inform all stakeholders and the public that the recommended unit shelf price of Huletts SunSweet table sugar remains the same at US$2.60 for wholesale and US$2.76 for retail, with Gold Star white sugar retailing at US$2.80 per 2 kg unit.
The Zimbabwe Sugar Industry currently holds sufficient sugar stocks to meet local market requirements. While the prevailing economic conditions may lead to a spike in demand on 1he back of speculative behaviour by some market players, the industry is well prepared as the current and projected stock levels are more than adequate to meet the consumption needs of the nation.
With the current milling season coming to an end in December 2024, the Zimbabwe Sugar Industry remains committed to maintaining a steady supply of sugar and meeting the nation’s demand until the next milling season. The industry will have sufficient cover for brown, white and manufacturers’ grade stocks for the local market’s domestic and industrial use.
